Better Care Medical

Why do most Americans have to pay so much for such terrible medical care?

Most Americans do not have access to the several internationally famous medical centers. The rest are charlatan clinics, pill pushers and home to new infections, yet unnamed. Swine flu is another "stimulus package" for Big Pharm and the HMOs. Naive children.

  1. go somewhere else if you are not satisfied
  2. It depends on what you mean by terrible. You could go to canada and get no name drugs that arn't as good as ours. Medical technology is almost always invented in america. Transplant surgeries are not requireing month long waiting lists. There are problems sure but its certainly not TERRIBLE maybe slightly overtaxed due to our unhealthy lifestyle choices.
  3. Most Americans have excellent care, and wouldn't change it for socialist health care, ever. I love not waiting for care. I love not waiting all day in a waiting room. I love choosing my doctor. I love the latest technology, and actually having access to it. I love the innovation only America seems to perfect.
  4. true but i've seen people come to America to get treated as well. I do see the pill pushing and the need to analyze and prescribe something for everything. Sometimes i wonder if swine flu came about to get some nameless woman from Kansas elected :) most people across the world don't have the access the need to medical care. Mostly it's the insurance companies but it doesn't help that the lawsuit happy country we live in drives up prices either
  5. because big pharma and the private insurance companies are allowed to lobby and buy off our congress. lobbying should be illegal
  6. What do you mean that most Americans don't have access to internationally famous medical centers? And even if it is true, which I do not believe it is, so what? I pay $124 a month for myself, my wife, and my daughter through work and I have excellent medical coverage and get great medical care! If you want bad medical care be sure to sign up for Obamacare! Which is socialized medicine brought to you by the people who run the IRS, Medicare, Medicaid, have bankrupt Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security, have bankrupt both Fannie May and Freddie Mac, and are responsible for the current economic crisis! In England health care is rationed. If you are older and get an eye disease you have to go blind in one eye before they will give you the medicine to save your other one. In countries that have socialized medicine the survival rates for prostate and breast cancer is far lower than it is here. The American medical system is responsible for more than 50% of medical breakthroughs. There was a story a few months ago about a pregnant lady in Canada who had to fly to the US to see an Ob/Gyn because every month because all the ones in Canada were book for 10 months!
  7. Compared to other countries our size (population), we are number one in overall heatlh care countries with populations around 300 million people are USA ranked 37th India ranked 112th China ranked 144th countries that may reach the 300 mark in the next 30 years are Indnoesia ranked 92nd Nigeria ranked 187th Although you can find smaller countries ranked higher, you can also find some states in America with better health care than others and some of our states are bigger than some countries, example Texas, Alaska, California************************************8
  8. I wouldn't consider the medical care in North America "terrible". I think it could certainly be improved; more time with one's doctor, instead of a 5 minute "once over" would be a start. I would guess that they, the doc's. have a minimum number of patients they have to see/day, and unless your problem is deemed SERIOUS, out the door you go. My own Doctor told me my problems were in my head, and I should see a shrink. After the blood tests came back and showed a serious problem, she didn't even apologize. Now, I cannot afford health insurance, so I don't see a doc any more, and I get my meds online, where they are at least 1/2 the price of a pharmacy. I cannot even afford routine tests, and I am 49. I think the major problem with health care in this country is the lack of good quality affordable health insurance. How are we supposed to take care of ourselves if we cannot even afford to see a qualified doctor? I have been to "clinics" where the cost is reduced, but they are staffed by interns who do not have adequate experience. My opinion? You get what you PAY for.
  9. Yes - we've built the biggest, the most crooked "health" care scam in history - and the republican's apparently LOVE it - they sure collect a lot of bribes from Big Pharm. What if Americans had real health care???? I wonder what it would look like.
  10. Hey, compadre!!! If you find any insight on this issue, send it my way. STILL . . . If I had to hazard a guess, I would look to the fact that the inflated prices for medical care are first caused by the fact that you cannot really shop around for medical care the way that you can for other commodities and services. If you break your arm in an attempt to arrest the act of falling on your caboose, a doctor/nurse worth her salt is going to take X-rays to appraise the damage before aligning the broken bones back in place and placing your arm in a cast. There might be some intermediate steps along the way, but that pretty much sums up my point. All doctors/nurses have the same general medical training and pretty much conduct business the same way even if they have divergent specialties. Second in line is that the insurance companies and HMOs have a lot of administrative overhead and are in the business of making money. As you can probably imagine, this means that insurance companies and HMOs do their best to collect your deductible and premium while avoiding the obligation of paying out when they are supposed to whenever and however they can. Lastly, the doctors themselves often have malpractice insurance whose premiums have to be paid. I understand that the intention of such doctors is to avoid being wiped out if anybody ever litigates against them, but what actually happens is that a disgruntled patient that truly wants to litigate against his doctor usually does so and sets his sights on the market value of the doctor's malpractice insurance policy. Regardless of whether such litigation succeeds, higher insurance premiums are most certainly the outcome for a doctor caught in this situation and that doctor ends up having to raise his prices if he is not first forced out of business. I have to wonder who wins in such a scenario!!!
  11. We're Paying so much Because those of With insurance Have to Pay for those without. a $10 asprin? I mean really. The answer is to end the abuse of our medical care by illegals and fraudulent welfare recipients, fraudulent workers comp claims etc.
  12. We do have choice if we don't like our doctor we can go to another one. I don't agree with you our medical care is exceptional.
