What is the cheapest individual health insurance plan?
I am young and healthy and need a health insurance plan for myself. Essentially, I just need health insurance in case of a freak accident that will land me in a hospital. Any suggestions? The cheapest so far has been $61 a month. I don't care about deductibles or any of that. Just that it has the lowest monthly fee. Thanks!

- You'd better care about "deductibles or any of that." Go see an insurance broker that handles individual plans and find out what options you have.
- The cheapest one, is the one with the least coverage. That $61 a month plan - probably limits your hospital coverage to $10,000, or has a huge deductible. Not caring about the details, is how you end up having massive bills later on, and blaming the insurance company. Take responsibiltiy for yourself. Read the fine print.
- In my state the cheapest policy is the one with a $15,000 annual deductible. I have that policy and the premiums are $176 a month for a healthy active 50 year old. I don't like having the idea of paying that much but a $5,000 deductible policy is over $400 per month. Banking the difference for 4 healthy years gives me enough savings to cover the higher deductible.
